Are you still dieting?!

So this is the time of the year when everyone’s New Year’s Resolution’s start to trail off, the gym’s start to become less crowded, the produce section starts to not look so empty.. it’s one of my favorite times of the year cause my friends stop pretending to be on diets, stop pretending to be hardcore into workouts, and they stop pretending that they gave up every bad food ever…they come have a burger and a beer with me and life is good again.

This year was different; I started off 2016 in the most horrific way possible. No, I wasn’t drugged, raped, or murdered so I guess I should calm down with the dramatics, but I did start the year in a god awful dress that I USED to look good in but now I just look like the largest blueberry you have ever seen.

We decided to go out on NYE and I almost considered putting a bag over my head so no one knew WHO the gigantic blueberry walking around was..but instead I downed an entire bottle of champagne and my image in the mirror was too blurry to care. Problem solved. Until the next morning when pictures were being sent to me, posted on Instagram, and posted on Facebook. I was so disgusted that my hangover intensified by like a million.

So I had this great idea… why don’t I start working out and eating healthy in 2016. Like all my friends do it..they all make it look super easy…apparently when you are dieting or working out all you do is “check-in” at the gym and post your “clean eats” to Instagram and Facebook. I am pretty sure you loose more weight if you add #cleaneating to everything you eat. I have also heard that #newyearnewme is how everyone miraculously changes in the new year.

So I jumped on the bandwagon and let me tell you something…being healthy is so much more than just checking in at the gym and posting your lettuce wrap to Facebook. It takes some serious time commitment, serious focus, an awesome support team, and some awesome playlists that motivate you when you don’t want to be motivated. That is what we should be posting, commenting, tweeting, and sharing.

If you are reading this and you are one of those people…delete the last six pictures you posted of yourself at the gym, the healthy dinners you have made for the past week and post a quote or image that not only motivates you but will be encouraging to someone else to keep going. It’s hard to stay focused, it’s hard to stay positive, let’s work together.

Cheers to those on the treadmill right now…you’re lapping me on the couch!
