BRUCE!

So Mr. Bruce is the newest, latest, and greatest thing in my life.
After searching for several weeks for a fur baby this one stumbled into my life.

Our new relationship has a great story too.. I don't want to bore you with the whole long story but I will give you the quick version. So like I said I have been looking for a new pup for several weeks now and after meeting not quite the right one, I was on the hunt again. During a quick trip to the Petco near my house this past Saturday morning just to browse the dogs there, I found the perfect pup for me. It's like with anything that is mean't to be..you just know.

After walking Bruce around the store for a few minutes, I knew this guy was coming home with me. I have had that feeling before and it has turned out in serious disappointment but this was different, I knew this guy was special.

So my first day with Bruce was an interesting one... I hadn't had a dog in years. I mean I always had one at home, like a family dog, that I would play with, walk with, and be around when I went home for breaks or to see my mom..but this was different, this dog was mine, he was in my house, and I had NO IDEA what to do with him. We had at least a zillion staring contest..all of which he won, I fed him more treats and cheese then I probably should have, we walked and walked and walked around the neighborhood.

After spending just a few short hours together though we were already becoming best friends.

Let me give you a little background on this four legged pal of mine, so Bruce is from the Fetch A Cure organization, which is a non-profit organization that matches wannabe owners with their pets through events, campaigns, and fundraisers.

More specifically, Bruce is from the Pixie's Pen Pals Program, which helps rescued dogs work with inmates in a correctional center here in VA. Bruce worked with the inmates to learn responsibility, patience, tolerance, and life long skills. So my friends that is one awesome pup, I have nick named him Bad Ass Bruce.

The funny part about that, well I have found it entertaining so far, is that he is terrified of everything! He knocked something over the other day and he literally shit his pants..well not literally since he wasn't wearing pants, but it smelled something awful after it happened.

He is terrified of most people and takes quite awhile  to warm up to them. Once he does though he loves to grab toys and play.

I know it's a bit early folks, since we have only been together for a few days, but I think I already love him.

So if you are friends with me on ANY of my social media sites or a regular reader of this blog..get ready for an overload of Bru, at least for the next couple of weeks or so...

Love.
